What Are Some Good Daily Affirmations For People With Low Self Esteem?
Please don’t use affirmations. They don’t work. It’s you arguing with yourself.
Please don’t worry about your self-esteem. High self-esteem is not a sign of mental health, and there is ZERO evidence that there is any correlation between high self-esteem and accomplishment. The most dangerous people on the planet are also among those with the highest opinion of themselves.
Self-respect, on the other hand, is worth your time. It’s something you earn, not something you try to talk yourself into feeling. Most likely you’ve earned it already and just haven’t noticed. If you spend some time thinking about people you respect and what it is about them that you respect, you can realize that you have those same qualities too. (If you didn’t, you couldn’t recognize them in others.)
As a direct alternative to affirmations, out of respect for your question, I’ll suggest instead asking yourself questions. Your brain is amazing, truly amazing, at answering questions, and you’ll really enjoy getting answers to questions like these:
How many ways, big or small, can I make my life a better one today, How many people can I make smile in the next 24 hours, I wonder: whose life I will make a little bit easier today, What really cool things did I learn today?
Don’t take my word for it. Test it for yourself.
